Rbtt Redemption Sound Setters will be the first band in the
Conventional Large steel orchestra category to face the panel of judges
on the night of Saturday February 21 at the National Panorama Finals, Queen’s
Park Savannah, Port of Spain. The competition is
scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
Playing Winston Gordon’s arrangement of the Edwin Pouchet/Alvin Daniell composition “First In
De Line”, the Tobago-based steel orchestra will start the
battle of the big guns. They will be followed by Sagicor
Exodus, WITCO Desperadoes. Silver Stars, and bp Renegades in
second, third, fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
The next two bands, Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars and
Siparia Petrotrin Deltones, will perform in positions six
and seven. Defending champions Phase II Pan Groove round off
the night’s competition in eighth spot.
Additionally, when the curtain rises at this year’s Finals on
Saturday evening, the spotlight will be on Dr. Leroy Calliste aka Black Stalin, guest artiste, who will perform
his 2009 calypso, “Respect The Steelband.”
