Verse 1
Not to long ago Pan was a badjohn
So it was an outcast to some people of this nation.
But after a while it attracted plenty women
Now you could see playing even little children,
It endured a firestorm of criticism.
But with perseverance it said the struggle must go on.
The journey was tough for the Pan you know.
Society treated it badly here in Trinbago.

So now you know the journey of Pan
Full of excitement, the journey of Pan
Creativity, the journey of Pan.
What an invention the journey of Pan
Pan does make you jump and wave
No longer it misbehave
You must understand that is the Journey of Pan

Verse 2
All over the world the pan you will see
A pan tuner mentioned, it is known Universally.
In some colleges and great universities
You can use this instrument, to get your music degree
What an invention created right here in this land
We all should be proud, every man, child and woman
So let’s give some praise - to the steel band movement
And to the Pioneers for our National Instrument

Verse 3
You may not believe - Places Pan Performed
In some auditoriums and some big stadiums
In Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall
Look its just like Romance, listening to their performance
Classical music - the pan does excel
Its so intriguing, it could put you under a spell
I tell you for sure, the steel band has come a long way
It took determination to be where it is today.

Verse 4
Many young people now playing the Pan
Well let me inform you its part of their education
Check the steel bands - you’ll see what is going on.
As in higher education, men are being replaced by women
Look there and children who are proud to be playing Pan
The future for sure is now in capable hands
They cannot give up they must continue the struggle
The battle is now being fought by women and young people
