Michael [aka Mykal] Blaize Robertson is a Human Resource professional with a rich legacy in Grenadian cultural and musical circles. He is the Human Resource Manager at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort. With extensive experience in both HR and the arts, Michael has made significant contributions as a leader, innovator, and advocate within his community.
He served as the President of the Grenada Steelband Association, where he championed the development and promotion of steelpan music across the island. His leadership extended to his role as Vice President of the Calypso Judges Association of Grenada, overseeing the adjudication and fostering the growth of the local calypso scene for over two decades.
A founding member and former manager of the renowned Pan Wizards Steel Orchestra, Michael has been instrumental in shaping the ensemble’s musical direction and success. Since 1996, he has been the chief arranger for the band, guiding them to victories—including winning the National Panorama competition and the Pan Expressions competition in 2004. Under his artistic direction, the Blast Pan Wizards have consistently ranked among the top performers in Grenada, often placing in the top third of national competitions. His leadership has also seen the band perform internationally in venues across Miami, New York City, Trinidad, and St. Lucia.
