Verse 1

(Anya sexy Anya – Anya sexy Anya)
Her warmth and her compassion
She capture we soul
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
Pretty like a rose with diamond,
ruby and pearl
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
We twitter to the end
the whole Caribbean, my friend
She won the popular vote
It was just a matter of time
When the world saw her clothing line
She shine, T&T shine, the Caribbean shine
She blow the judges’ mind.

(Anya sexy Anya – Anya sexy Anya)
We love how you do it –
We love how you flaunt it
(Anya sexy Anya – Anya sexy Anya)
Yuh sweet – yuh sweet
(Anya sexy Anya – Anya sexy Anya)
You ran away on the runway –
for the world to see
(Anya sexy Anya – Anya sexy Anya)
Well done baby.

Verse 2

Tobago was her inspiration –
she said to the world
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
With a Caribbean clothing line
What a beauty to behold
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
You created history
for the Caribbean, baby,
Ayoung-Chee, you inspire we
Every critic opening they mouth
Dey free to talk all about –
She shine – TnT shine, the Caribbean shine
Iit was love Tobago style.

Verse 3

You mash dem up like Ian Alleyne –
One is one I’m told
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
Just like Victor and Kimberly
Dem and all was going for gold
(Anya doo doo darling,
we project runway girl)
Doh hurt yuh head, Anya say
This is a state of emergency
Meh clothing line, was in jeopardy
Was Tobago and meh family
And a bush bath down by the sea,
She shine – TnT shine – the Caribbean shine
Was a sprinkle of bacchanal.

Winston Scarborough is considered by many to be one of the all-time great composers of steelband ‘panorama tunes.’

A performer artiste himself, 2012 will mark the 34th year that Trinidad & Tobago’s Winston Scarborough (The Original DeFosto Himself - as he loves to be called) has been singing calypsos.  For him it was an uphill struggle to be recognized by the fraternity and public at large.

Abandoned by both his parents at the young age of 6 months, Scarborough was sent to the Tacarigua Orphanage in east Trinidad where he remained until age 17.  The experience in the orphanage would place an indelible stamp on him.

One of the most important aspects of DeFosto’s work as a calypsonian is the tributes he has paid in song to many of Trinidad & Tobago’s cultural icons; the late Lord Kitchener (calypsonian Aldwyn Roberts) would be one such with whom people are most familiar.

For 2010 The Original DeFosto Himself dropped two big musical ‘bombshells’ for Panorama: “Smooth Sailing” and “Pan on Fire.”  In 2011 he came back strong once more with “A Raging Storm;” “In She Rainorama;” “Desperadoes Coming Down” and “More Money for Pan.”

For the 2012 panorama season, DeFosto  has already released several selections, such as An Intervention of Hope (Lives Have Been Saved).  Yet another coming from the talented artist is the track featured here, Anya.
