LYRICS

Verse 1

I chose to elect (pan warriors)
Give you much respect
For a job well done
The things you’ve been through (pan warriors)
Tip my hat to you
Victory is won
Some looking for fame (pan warriors)
Trying to build a name
Boasting what they can do
Now they hold the prize
Never realize
They wouldn’t be there if were not for you

Most warriors played their ping pongs
Night and day expressing their songs
Even though restrictions and strife
Still maintain their artistic life

Chorus

(Give you much respect Pan Warriors
Give you much respect
Give you much respect Pan Warriors
Give you much respect) x 3

Verse 2

Your love for the art
Never fall apart
Some of them broke the rules
Players from La Cour Harpe
To present day “Boogsie” Sharpe
With Fisheye and Neville Jules
All these pioneers
Who invested so many years
All pan players should know
They fought very hard
Many hours in the pan yard
So our culture can grow

Give thanks to the sponsors I say
Don’t forget they helped pave the way
Arrangers and tuners of yesterday
Make pan players earn a living today

Chorus

(Give you much respect Pan Warriors
Give you much respect
Give you much respect Pan Warriors
Give you much respect) x 3

Now residing in Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A., his contribution to steel pan music was greatly recognized by institutions such as The Jackie Robinson Center, Police Athletic League and Wingate High School, in which he was very instrumental in teaching and developing steel bands and spreading the culture of Trinidad and Tobago.

Currently, Thomas (Jackspania) is the president of Moonstone productions and Japat Music School & Recording Studio, in which he partners with Cheryl Vincent who is a vocalist, registered nurse, and his background singer. As vocalist, composer, lyricist, arranger, producer, engineer and music teacher, the quest of Thomas (Jackspania) is to create music that will be internationally appealing both in lyrical content and musicianship. His motto says - “To counter stagnancy there must be growth.”

For the 2015 season, Thomas has two songs to date in the ‘running’ - the track featured here, Pan Warriors, and The Pan Tones Ring.
