LYRICSVerse 1
Last night,
ah come home from practice,
To my surprise ah start to
reminisce,
It was, in d year of 2000,
When I became ah lover of steel pan,
I was at d age of eight,
Already knowing steel pan is great,
So at that time my friends,
I say I'm musician till d end.
Chorus 1
Dey call me
ah
Pan Jumbie,
When d music hit me
I does get on crazy,
Pan Jumbie,
I does go wit d flow,
Jump high and wine down low,
Pan Jumbie,
Lying down in meh bed
Only music in meh head,
Pan Jumbie,
Try to take ah rest
But dis thing have me possess
Bridge
Pan Jumbie
In d morning,
Pan Jumbie
In d evening,
Pan Jumbie
In d night time,
Whatever ah doing it always on meh
mind
Aye when ah eating,
Pan Jumbie
When ah sleeping,
Pan Jumbie
Is wat dey calling me.
Verse 2
One day in
primary school St. Catherine's,
On my lunch break I was day
dreaming,
It was an imagination,
Of wat I call ah sweet tenor pan,
Playing songs inside my mind,
Dancing having ah good time,
Then I heard d bell rang,
Well yuh know my lunch was d steel
pan.
Chorus 2
Dey call me
ah
Pan Jumbie,
Only sweet melody
Is all I does study,
Pan Jumbie
I love when school over
To run down to d pan yard,
Pan Jumbie
Music so sweet
Ah feel it in meh heart beat,
Pan Jumbie,
I doh get tired
Pan is my desire.

And ah great panist I must become.
Chorus 3
Dey call me

“I am 23-year-old Genelle Bharat and I was born and raised in the wonderful community of Old St. Joseph Road Laventille. My desire to perform has instilled in me a love for the steelpan, singing, African drums and other percussive instruments as well as modeling. I have been playing the steelpan pan for 15 years and singing for 9.
“After releasing my first song, Chords, for Panorama 2015, it was well received by listeners. It was also performed by Laventille Serenaders in the National Panorama Finals – Small Band Category. My song for Panorama 2016 is Pan Jumbie, featured here.
“Performing is my life and I
enjoy putting a smile on faces
each and every time I perform. I
always try to be humble and
patient and these qualities have
allowed me to be successful in
everything I do.”
