Two Large Steel Orchestras Drop Out of 2017 Panorama

When Steel Talks has confirmation that two large (120-players) “legacy” steel orchestras will not be participating in the 2017 Trinidad and Tobago National Panorama.

They are Redemption Sound Setters Steel Orchestra out of sister isle Tobago, and Harmonites Steel Orchestra out of Barataria, east Trinidad.

A Redemption Sound Setters source sited low player turnout as a contributing factor to the organization’s executives pulling the plug on the band’s participation in the 2017 Panorama competition.

What is significant in the case of Redemption Sound Setters is that it has been the only large steel orchestra operating in Tobago for the last several years, and has been their flagship competitor making it to the finals in the large category in all but one year.
