Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Steel orchestras participated in the preliminaries of the Trinidad and Tobago National Schools’ Panorama for the 2026 Season. Venues were respective schools/panyards from January 7—14 across the country, and the competition is being held under the aegis of the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Education.

In the primary category, twelve of thirty-two steel orchestras qualified for the finals on Monday January 19. They will be joined by ten secondary school steel orchestras competing in their own segment.

Unlike in previous years, the finals for this year’s schools’ Panorama season—overseen by the country’s Ministry of Education—is being held as a separate event, on a separate day, and at a separate venue. The schools’ finals take place in the south at Skinner Park in San Fernando, and starts at 9:00 a.m. AST (Atlantic Standard Time).

Last year as was the custom - the primary and secondary school steel orchestras joined 21 and Under bands, and all competed at the traditional venue of the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain. As such, the defending 2025 Primary School champions are Sando Boys Steel (San Fernando Boys’ RC School), while the 2025 Secondary School winner, B.A.T.C.E. Steel Orchestra, is not participating in this year’s National Schools’ Panorama. Instead the band remains up north, and is competing in Pan Trinbago’s 19 and Under grouping, and in fact takes the stage in position one on Sunday January 18.

Following are the full results for the Primary School steel orchestras in preliminary competition:
