Southern Stars Orchestra

Southern Stars Steel Orchestra is a humble organisation which began in the community of Palo Seco, Trinidad, in 2015, under the guidance of world-famous arranger Dr. Len “Boogsie” Sharpe. The band eventually grew in numbers and founded its home, located at #122 Erin Road, Siparia, where they have taken pride in nurturing the immeasurable talents of the youth of the community while in tandem, ensuring they remain busy and engaged.

Southern Stars entered its inaugural campaign in 2023 for the country’s annual national steelband competition, and showcased the talent that is rooted in Trinidad’s South land. As their slogan says “We are changing the world through music.”

In 2026, Southern Stars Steel Orchestra, together with Uptown Fascinators Steel Orchestra - became joint Panorama champions in the Small steel orchestra category.
