ADLIB Shines at
Summer Concert
New York- It was a day when it was 96° degrees in the shade and tottering well over 100° elsewhere. The Summer evening sky was a hazy blue with the backdrops of the Waterside Plaza towers, the UNIS (United Nations International School), the East River and the Brooklyn skyline. On stage was ADLIB Steel Orchestra, Long Island's finest, performing to an attentive crowd as part of the Waterside Plaza's summer concert series overlooking the East River. In spite of the oppressive heat throughout the day, ADLIB's performance provided the concert attendees with a welcome diversion and entertaining evening under city skyscrapers, as their music took the onlookers on a wide and varied musical journey. From Trinidad panorama and soca musical treats, to classical and pop favorites like, there was something for all musical tastes. The evening of entertainment lasted all of two hours - from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, with ADLIB steel orchestra delivering two forty-five minute sets during that period. The Music Under the Stars series will continue featuring many local artist thru August 22.
