Steelband Association proudly
announces a grand Steelband Jamboree
this Friday, June 3rd.
Skiffle Bunch Steel Orchestra from
Trinidad and Tobago will be matching
their skills against Grenada’s
finest steelpan musicians.
This event, which is free to the public, signals the return of steelband
in its fullest form to Spicemas.
In 2011, pan lovers can expect the
Bomb Tune Competition and Pan Yard
Judging which were introduced in
2009, and the traditional Panorama
on Pantastic Saturday.

The sweet sound of steel begins its
2011 campaign this Friday with the
Pre-carnival Launch Steelband
Jamboree where Grenada’s finest
steel orchestras, including
Angel Harps and
New Dimension,
come up against Trinidad and
Tobago’s Skiffle Bunch Steel
Orchestra from 6 p.m. on The Carenage.
The carnival season begins with the official launch of Spicemas on
Saturday June 4th at the
Grenada National Stadium.
