London, England, U.K. - Five steel orchestras will put their best competitive efforts forward for the 2022 UK Panorama. Each wants to be champion, with the title defenders, 11-time Panorama champs Mangrove Steelband determined to cede no ground.
New York-based arranger André White is back with Mangrove, his work with the band having delivered triumphant returns in the form of four championships over the years. Mash Up by the late soca icon Blaxx is Mangrove’s tune of choice, which Ebony Steelband is also going with. Duvone Stewart has returned as the band’s Panorama arranger, trying for his fourth winning collaboration with Ebony, while simultaneously enabling what would be its twenty-third! title in the Panorama arena.
Croydon Steel Orchestra’s arranger - and leader - Paul Dowie has chosen Nadia Batson’s saucy Belly, while Metronomes and Pan Nation steel orchestras will serve up different flavors of Voice’s Out and Bad courtesy their respective arrangers, Vivian Miller and Chris Storey
The UK National Panorama will be held at the customary venue at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park, Kensal Road, W10 from 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. on Saturday 27th August.
