Ebony Steelband, founded in 1969 by a group of dedicated men and women who shared a love of steelbands and steelpan music and wanted to promote steelpan music across the UK and Europe.
Ebony is Europe’s leading Steelband (currently European Steelband champions) and has won the National Panorama competition, at Notting Hill Carnival, for a record 24 times, nine times in succession!
Ebony participated in the World Steelband Festival in Trinidad & Tobago in 2000 where they placed 4th and again in 2002 where they came 3rd. They also placed 9th at the World Panorama in 2015.
In 2005 Ebony was awarded the Queen’s Award for serving the community for over 18 years.
Aside from musical accomplishments and performances, Ebony delivers a variety of musical activities and a full range of classes and workshops for people of all ages.
Ebony Steelband Trust is a registered charitable company based in the London Borough of Westminster, very close to the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
