LYRICS
“News Intro:”
In our report tonight
Violence and corruption permeates
our society
There is no respect for law and
authority
The crime rate keeps escalating
And law enforcement is losing the
battle...
Intro
Blood!
Blood!
Oh! Oh!
Blood! Blood!
Whoa Oh! Whoa Oh!
Verse 1
I remember
when, we used to sit and lime, have
a good time
None ah we involved, sticking up no
one, doing no crime
I remember when, the community, one
family
I checking for you, you checking for
me
Time has changed so much, things are
not the same
Violence and death, to me so insane
Chorus
Everyday is
murder
Blood shedding all over
Some family grieving
The wicked the innocent blood keep
on running
Everyday is murder
Blood shedding all over
Some family grieving
Cause no one knows how to stop the
bleeding
Verse 2
Just the
other day, this set of bad boy ting
wasn't around
Respecting each other, we all
getting along
They used to call Trinbago paradise!
Could roam anywhere, we had it so
nice
How we come this way, it's so hard
to say
Love we had back when, somehow
slipped away
Chorus

(Want to
know!)
How you sleep at night, after taking
another human life
How you sleep at night, How?! I want
to know!
(Want to know!)
How you face the mirror after a
murder (How!)
It's somebody brother, somebody
sister!
In result of that, so much suffering
Karma is so true, change you will
have to!
Chorus

Murderer!
Murderer! Murderer! (Ad lib)
Jah Know!
No Light! No Light!
Jah Know!

Issa Jack
The GKB Project is a production company based in Houston, Texas. The founder is Issa Jack, a bass player hailing from the island of Tobago. Issa is a musician who has played and travelled extensively with different bands from Houston, New York, Asia, Europe and Trinidad and Tobago.
The Project’s name came about as inspiration in memory of his late brother George “Katie” Brown (GKB) who passed away a few years ago.
Issa’s philosophy is that music can bring people together, bring about change, and inspire and unite people being exposed to different genres of music. At an early age Issa believed one shouldn’t restrict one’s self when creating music, because the sound of music travels freely through the air. So this is how one should be when creating and producing music.
Last season Issa was heard on The Girl Next Door, and for 2016 he is back on the track featured here, Paradise Lost, which he co-wrote with Alston Jack.
Alston
Jack, a native from the
isle of Tobago, has been
passionate about the
steeldrum since he was 9
years old, when he
became a member of the
Tobago All Stars Steel
Orchestra.
Seeking a greater
challenge, the double
second panist became a
member of Renegades
Steel Orchestra in 1967,
but remained with the
band for only one season
before moving to
cross-town rivals,
Desperadoes.
As a member of
Desperadoes Steel
Orchestra, Alston Jack
was able to tour many
places with them
including New York city
where he stayed and made
his second home.
Jack’s pan compositions
have been featured on
the soundtracks of Fatal
Attraction, Working Girl
and NBC’s daytime soap
opera Another World. He
has also appeared on the
Cosby Show and Another
World. He has arranged
for bands in New York
such as Harlem All
Stars, Moods Pan Groove,
Metro, Women in Steel,
Tropicans and Pantonic.
