LYRICSVerse 1
A magical instrument was born in the
20th century
And oh what an instrument to behold
And It went through transformations
over the century
Now the instrument is played all
over the world
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
Singing praises of the invention
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
Singing the melodies played on pan
Chorus
Steel pan is
fantastic
It's really magnetic
For me the sound is heavenly
Steel pan is terrific
It's really eclectic
The way it plays a melody
When the panist do so
And run a crescendo
It does bring the crowd to fever
pitch
When I hear the steel pan playing it
is poetic
Looking for a word to describe it...
Aahhh.... it is Panrific
Verse 2
This magical
instrument has been through an
evolution
From a single pan to a steel band
orchestra
Over the years some sort of
revolution
So being a panist no longer has a
stigma
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
Singing praises of the invention
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
Singing the melodies played on pan
Chorus

Verse 3
This magical
instrument on its journey to glory
Resiliency and creativeness was
unfold
An instrument that was born out of
oil and slavery
Oh what a history to be told
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
And the voices seem to emanate from
above
Hallelu hallelu hallelu I can hear
pan angels singing
Here's to you from T&T with love
Chorus

Eugene Bonaparte Williams aka “Bogene” was born in Point Fortin, Trinidad and emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1976. His passion for writing songs goes back to his childhood days. Though his career path was not music-related he never stopped writing songs over the years. He writes songs in different genres of music and credits his neighbour Mr. Clarke on Main Field Road for this as he played songs from different genres of music which “Bogene” absorbed in his young developing mind.
“Bogene” has two songs in consideration for the 2018 Panorama season: the one featured here, Panrific, and Asami (This One Is For You). To quote “Bogene,” “It would be a great honor to have a steel band play any of my songs at the Panorama competition.”
