Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Scintillating steel is expected this Sunday February 9 as seven steel orchestras—arguably some of the best in the large band category, and indeed, in the country—perform in their respective panyards. The large bands are in the spotlight for four evenings in this preliminary round in the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama. A panel of judges will visit each panyard.
On Sunday the focus falls on the bands in the North region, with Desperadoes Steel Orchestra first up on the schedule set by event organizer Pan Trinbago. Expected start time is around 7:00 p.m. AST (Atlantic Standard Time).
Consider this a much looked-forward-to Panyard crawl to various steel orchestra enclaves. Defending co-champions Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra and Renegades Steel Orchestra are stops number two and three along the way. And each is going with the same tune of choice for 2025, Machel Montano’s “Bet Meh.”

Steel orchestras from four regions—North, East, South/Central and Tobago—are competing in these preliminaries to move on to the National Semi-finals on Sunday February 16 at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
