Results - Large Conventional Steel Orchestra Semi Finals - Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama 2026
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Renegades Steel Orchestra playing champion arranger Duvone Stewart’s interpretation of the Mighty Sparrow’s cheeky ‘The Lizard,’ continued to titillate (musically) and retained its lead in scoring, ahead of title defender Exodus Steel Orchestra. The latter tied for second with Silver Stars Steel Orchestra.
It was a musical blast, literally, filled with the sounds of steel. The occasion was the annual Savannah Party at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain. Each year, two weeks before Carnival Saturday, multitudes of steelband music lovers make the pilgrimage, to revel in the music of some of the nation’s best steel orchestras in both the medium and large categories.
The 2026 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama season is no different - and so the Savannah hosted around thirteen hours of competitive music, more than half delivered by the large steel orchestras. And just two minutes after two in the morning, on stage was Tropical Angel Harps Steel Orchestra as the last band, playing ‘The Last Train.’
Seventeen steel orchestras took the stage and their musicians played their hearts out. However only sixteen were judged, with one band, Harmonites, being allowed to perform as the band had already set up on stage - but disqualified. The reason given after the results were read out, was that Harmonites did not make the minimum one-hundred player threshold to compete in the semi-finals.
With a three-way tie at position number nine - eleven, not ten bands, are in to the finals. They now have just under two weeks before they grace the very same stage once more on February 14, at that time, in final pursuit of the title of 2026 national Panorama champion.
Until then, find following the results for the semi-finals competition for Large conventional steel orchestras - as delivered, live, after the competition ended. Subject to update per event organizer is Pan Trinbago.
