2026 Grenada Senior Panorama champions, New Dimension Steel
Orchestra on stage
St. George’s, Grenada, W.I. - New Dimension Steel Orchestra clinched the 2026 national Senior Panorama title with its performance of Cordel Byam’s arrangement of I Got Me by Sakinah. Band number eight on stage for the competition with final notes at midnight, New Dimension made a lasting impression, one good enough to chalk up its fifteenth title, and the fourth for Cordel.
They understood the mission clearly. The focus, the energy and passion were simply unmatched by the competition. Cordel and New Dimension were not just on the 2026 Panorama stage - they were on “Broadway” - presenting a brand new musical named I Got Me; move over Hamilton, The Lion King, Wicked and Aladdin.

Results were ready around 12:30 a.m., closing off another Panorama season in Grenada as part of the country's annual Spicemas Carnival celebrations. Seven bands took on the task of challenging the 2025 title defender Commancheros Steel Orchestra, which played in position one.
Striking up just before 8:30 p.m. Commancheros was the largest band for the night with an 85-player-strong crew. Of note and a rarity, Andre “Maestro” Greenidge and Mikiel “Pan Guru” Smith delivered an arrangement with a count on par with the original tune of choice as recorded. The newest band in competition, St. Mark’s All Stars, performed second.
Grenada’s steelband community remembered those in the fraternity who passed since the 2025 Panorama, among them arrangers of two participating bands. Rainbow City All Stars and Pan Wizards steel orchestras lost their arrangers who took them to Panorama in 2025. Othniel St. Clair arranging for the former led the band to a second-place tie with New Dimension Steel Orchestra. Pan Wizards’ arranger Michael “Blaize” Robertson was also a founding member of his orchestra.
The National Stadium aka the Kirani James Athletic Stadium was the venue as customary, for the Saturday August 8 competition. There was a Spicemas US $30.00 Pay Per View option available for those not at the Panorama in person.
