Verse 1

I was amazed, I in ah daze
She had my attention
J’Ouvert time, she had a J’Ouvert wine
Can’t turn away, more that I play
Is plenty gyration
This gal blowing my mind
With some moves she must have arranged
That Bradley and Boogsie
won’t find strange
The melody she spinning for me
Come baby, drive me crazy...

I want you to
Back back in meh band
Come gyul jam on meh pan
I know Sparrow say "doh back back"
But I like the way how you slack
Back back bring it slow
Doh leh meh beg no more
I like how the bumper turning
So bring it along my darling
You making meh tenor hot
And meh rubber melting slow
Every time I see you going down
Low low way down low
So, back back in meh band
Come gyul jam on meh pan
Keep wining, I won’t stop playing.

Verse 2

Some does get mad, and behave bad
If you touch they tenor
J’Ouvert time, she had a J’Ouvert wine
But I doh care, want she right here
Make it sound sweeter
With hands all in de air
Very phrase and every drop
Every note with every stop
Every move I move she move same
Doing she thing with no shame

I want you to breakaway (x2)
I want you to back back in meh band
Come gyul jam on meh pan
Keep wining, I won’t stop playing.

Verse 3

With every step, know I could bet
She is ah winner
J’Ouvert time
She had a J’Ouvert wine
Moving with grace, a steady pace
She went down lower
My eyes focus on her
When I roll, she rolling right back
High then low, holding on my rack
Everybody stopping to stare
Say what or do she doh care

I want you to
Back back in meh band....

  Visit When Steel Talks

Composer and panist Miguel Reyes, who shares the same hometown with the late Aldwyn Roberts aka Lord Kitchener is from Arima in east Trinidad.  The year 1980 saw Reyes relocating to Bermuda, and there becoming a member of a band called The Real Thing managed by nightclub owner Choy Aming.  His involvement with music became rooted, and has been the mainstay in his life ever since.

Recognition came Miguel’s way in 2009 with his acclaimed ‘pan tune’ Bandoleros, vocalized by Tunapuna Scanty.   It took Sforzata Steel Orchestra in Trinidad & Tobago’s medium band category to winner’s row.

Inter-national acclaim via New York was just a few months away when two veteran and world-renowned steel orchestras - Despers USA, and eventual Panorama champion Sonatas with arranger Yohan Popwell -  also opted for Bandoleros as their panorama tune of choice.

Miguel Reyes has honed his remarkable musical acumen through instruction in musical arrangement and composition under tutelage from recognized educators and musicians Merle Albino-de Coteau, Leon “Smooth” Edwards and the late master musician Clive Bradley

Currently residing in New York, about three years ago Miguel released his first full CD called “Panorama Fest 2010.”  All content was composed, written, arranged and produced by him.  Two of the tracks were Pan Injustice and  De Last Band.

A competent musician, for the 2014 Panorama season Miguel Reyes unveils tracks such as Mr. Pan, Pan Is Meh Life and In Meh Band - featured here.
