Verse 1
In a party
with my baby
Carrying on, carrying on
Having fun, having fun
He turn and tell me
Look here honey
I got to go, I sorry to leave you so
I tell he “This music is nice boy
Stay and move your waist boy
Let me set the pace boy
Let me see you, let me see you
When the music hits you
You got to go down low
Then you wine it up slow
Let me see you, let me see you”
Chorus x2

Songwriter and panist Hayden Lynch hails from Trinidad W.I., where he was born in 1957 in the village of Tunapuna, east Trinidad. At age five he started to play Pan on an old tenor pan in his back yard. The first song he learned, which was self-taught, was “Somewhere My Love.”

Lynch’s first experience of playing in a steelband, Klondyte, was when he was just nine. He went on to play for many others orchestras such as Delphonic, Curepe Scherzando, Sforzata and Desperadoes just to name a few. In 1990 he migrated to the USA and continued playing pan with ADLIB and Despers USA.
Lynch has penned several pieces in the last few years including 2011’s Children You Must Love Your Mother, 2012’s Steel Pan Melody, 2013’s Gih Dem Something, Baron and Steel Pan Melody; he also co-wrote 2014’s Pan Scientist (Tribute To Bertie).
For the 2018 season he’s composed the track featured here—The Party Nice—vocalized by Elva King.
