Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - The Carnival may be officially over but come Saturday March 9, Pan Trinbago will relive the memories through its production “Lagniappe… A Night With The Champs,” at the home of Carnival, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, from 8:00 p.m.

The post-Carnival revue features some of the finest exponents of pan, mas, calypso and more on one stage in a final blaze of glory, giving the public another chance to savor all that was Carnival 2019.

As President of the organization Mrs. Beverley Ramsey-Moore declared: “The people of Trinidad & Tobago have been calling for it (the show). I have responded to that call. I trust and obey the people and so there will be a lagniappe…. a night with the champions.”

Headline acts include the National Panorama Single Pan, Small, Medium and Large Conventional steel orchestra winners – i.e. San Juan East Side Symphony single pan band, Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force, Pan Elders and Renegades Steel Orchestras. They will be ably supported by Desperadoes, Trinidad All Stars and Invaders Youth Steel Orchestra, champions in their own right.

The public can savor the splendor and glory of the Mas with the 2019 Band of The Year (Open) K2K Alliance & Friends’ “Through Stained Glass Windows.” Also gracing the Savannah stage are the Junior Band of the Year (Large) “Mas Mas Ah Know Yuh,” and the Junior King’s & Junior Queen’s of Carnival portrayal “Celebration of the Pan” and “The Beauty of Our National Bird… The Scarlet Ibis” respectively. “Mariella, Shadow of Consciousness” Senior Queen of Carnival and “A Peacock Becomes The Windows of the Universe,” first runner-up King of Carnival, complete the mas segment.

In addition to the above, the audience will be entertained by some of the big names in the business such as Nadia Batson, “Farmer Nappy,” “Swappi,” Iwer George, “Blaxx,” along with calypsonians Karen Asche, The Mighty Trini, Pharaoh and ex-tempo bards Winston “Gypsy” Peters and company. Adding flavor to the mix is the chutney soca cross-over band Dil-E-Nadan featuring vocalists Derrick Seales, Raymond Ramnarine and Renuka Mahabir.

Admission is TT$200.00 upon entry, plus patrons can win two return tickets to any North American destination serviced by Caribbean Airlines.

“Lagniappe…. A Night With The Champions,” originally Champs in Concert, has been a fixture in the Carnival calendar since 1980, provide a fitting end to the celebrations.
