2026 New York Panorama Steel Orchestra Panyard Recordings
Cool Down Versions & Tempo Versions
Brooklyn, New York, USA - Basement Recordings captures steel orchestras participating in the New York 2026 Panorama in respective panyards/rehearsal space just days, and one on the day - before they took the stage for the annual steelband music competition. Steel orchestras and arrangers collaborated and prepared to put forth their finest arrangements and presentations for the September 5 music showcase.
Orchestras and their respective arrangers include PanAlley with Marc Brooks, Despers USA with Odie Franklin, D’Radoes with Terrance “BJ” Marcelle, Metro with Vanessa Headley-Brewster, Steel Sensation with Tristan Japsi, Pan In Motion with Dr. Kendall K. Williams and Philadelphia (Philly) Pan Stars with Roger Greenidge.
Each recording is meant to allow the listener to experience two versions of the bands’ tunes of choice. One is at a Tempo comparable to when they compete on stage for Panorama; the second is the Cool Down version, a slower delivery of the piece opening up the nuances of the arrangements.
Enjoy the culture and community of the art form expressed through the music of some of the finest steelbands. The Tempo and Cool Down versions are provided as they become available. Basement Recordings recorded and documented these steel orchestras from September 2—5, 2026.
