South/Central Small Conventional Steel Orchestra Preliminaries - Panyard Judging - Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama 2024

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Eleven small steel orchestras from the South/Central region close off the preliminaries in the the category for the 2024 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama. Spread over three evenings, the bands represent the fourth region filled with performances which began with orchestras in sister isle Tobago back on Thursday December 7. The defending champions Uptown Fascinators are from Tobago.

It’s Todd’s Road Rhythem Raiders that is scheduled to  first make its musical statement around 7:00 p.m. on Friday December 15 ahead of fellow regional competitors Longdenville Claytones, Motown and Fusion Steel.

Starland Steel Orchestra is in play in the category this year and on Saturday December 16 performs for judges, aiming for the semi-final stage. Five more bands are expected to round out that evening’s competitive panyard performances.

On Sunday December 17  Cadenza Steel Orchestra with arranger Aquil Arrindell is expected to bring the curtains down on preliminary competition in the category about 4:00 in the afternoon.

Event organizer Pan Trinbago will share ‘live’ on Facebook, the opening of the score sheets the next day, Monday.

Steel orchestras from the four regions—Northern, Eastern, South/Central and Tobago—are competing in these preliminaries to move on to the National Semi-finals on Saturday January 6, 2024.
