Results - Large Conventional Steel Orchestra Semi-Finals - Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama 2025
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Fifteen bands took the stage at the semi-finals competition for large steel orchestras at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday February 16, as part of the exciting steelband music fiesta affectionately dubbed ‘the Savannah Party.’ At the end of it all, indeed, only ten made the final cut for the last musical battle in the large category for the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama, taking place on Saturday March 1.
Among the ten making it through are the joint reigning champions - Trinidad All Stars and Renegades steel orchestras. With their current placings, it seems if even there is a championship to be had, they will be joined no more - Renegades is currently second after the semi-finals, with Trinidad All Stars running seventh for now. Steelpan musicians in Exodus Steel Orchestra are looking to break their championship drought; they last had the title more than twenty years ago - in 2004; the band has placed first in both the preliminary and semi-final rounds this year.
And as always in competitive arenas, there was disappointment to be had, such as Fonclaire from the south landing in position thirteen, while Desperadoes and Starlift steel orchestras just missed final night with a tie for eleventh between them. The contingent of steel orchestras started off around 7:30 p.m. with Starlift Steel Orchestra’s performance closing off competition about 1:30 a.m. Results came about half hour later.
For the medium bands, whose results were given earlier in the evening, they are preparing for their February 23 final appearances.
Following are the full results for the semi-finals competition for Large conventional steel orchestras.
