Verse 1

Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome
Come and drink a rum
Welcome, wherever you are from
You are now in the land of steelband and bacchanal
This is, the greatest festival
You’ll experience music like,
you have never heard before
And lots in store, so much more
Jamming, Jamming, Jamming, Jamming
Don’t be bashful, or timid
Join in de number one happening
Wine and wine and wine and wine
And leggo yuh feelings
and leggo yuh feelings.

Bacchanal, Carnival
Bacchanal, Carnival, Festival
Just bend down and wine,
just bend down and wine
Just bend down and wine,
just bend and wine
When the rhythm get inside of you
With a little brew to sweeten you
De next day you cannot remember
If is March, or if is December
This is Carnival
It’s a festival
This is Carnival
It’s a bacchanal
Welcome to all, this is ou-r Carnival
Welcome, this is bacchanal.

Verse 2

Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome
Pan and Calypso
Welcome, masquerade in the street
You can wine on someone in de band that you may meet
Soca, the party enticer
Energizer music that,
makes you tremble and shiver
Panorama, de steel band
Jamming, Jamming, Jamming, Jamming
Fete all over de island
As we all release frustration
Wid Pan and mas and hot soca
A music bonanza, an extravaganza.

Verse 3

Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome
Nothing to compare
Welcome, the action is right here
Local or foreign the mas is there for everyone
For all, no discrimination
Do not worry ‘bout crime for,
that is on a holiday
All criminals, they busy
Jamming, Jamming, Jamming, Jamming
In the mas camp, or Pan yard
You come here only to party hard
Jump and wave and get on bad
For this is Trinidad, this is Trinidad.

Eunice Peters

Eunice Peters has been singing songs for the Pan since 1999 and has established herself as one of the top female singers in this area. Her list of songs include Colours, House of Music (the theme of Starlift’s Panyard); Pure Party (the winning selection of Silver Stars in the Medium Category 2004); Can’t Get Enough (winning selection of Merrytones in the Small Band Category 2007) and; First in the Line (winning selection of Silver Stars in the large Band Category 2009).

Eunice was also a regular finalist in the “Pan Song Competition” placing second in 2004.

For the 2012 Panorama season, she vocalizes the track This Is Bacchanal.

Composer and arranger Edwin PouchetEdwin Pouchet - Edwin grew up in pan, hearing pan morning, noon and night.  His bigger brother Junior Pouchet was synonymous with the band Silver Stars. When Junior migrated to Orlando to work with Disney World, Edwin took up the mantle and brought the band back in the limelight after a 10-year break.  Edwin proved to be a creative and exciting arranger reviving some of the band’s trademark selections as well as introducing new ones. The band made its name in the medium category of the steelband competitions winning with Pure Party in 2004. He also won the first “Pan in the 21st Century” competition with Love Theme as well as with the popular Phantom of the Opera.

However when he took the leap into the Large Band Category of Panorama in 2008, he earned the respect of his fans and peers with a respectable place in the finals with Thunder Coming, his own composition. This led to his first victory at that level the following year with First in the Line.

For Panorama 2012 their collaboration continues with this song, Gie Dem Tempo and This Is Bacchanal.

Alvin C. DaniellAlvin C. Daniell - Engineer, Cultural Researcher, Television Presenter, Composer and Music Producer comprise the disciplines of this individual.  In the pan world he is best known for his lyrical work with some of the top pan arrangers in Trinidad and Tobago. These include Ray Holman (Pan on the Move, Pan on the Run); Len “Boogsie” Sharpe (Mind Yuh Business, Misbehave); Pelham Goddard (Parade, Play My Music, Good News, A Happy Song); Brian “Bean” Griffith (Trini Know How, Pure Party, How We Coming – 2011); Don Clarke (Can’t Get Enough, Momentum – 2011).  He has also worked with Edwin Pouchet to produce several hits such as Thunder Coming, First in de Line, Battle Zone and It’s Showtime!, among others.
