Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Small steel orchestras begin their competition for the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama, with bands around the twin-island country performing in their respective preliminary phases.
Ten competitors from the Northern region are first up on Saturday January 4, and Sunday January 5, as a panel of judges visits respective venues to ultimately green-light those moving on to the semi-final round of competition in the small conventional category. Bands from the Eastern, South/Central and Tobago regions have their turn after the Northerners.
Tokyo Steel Orchestra, Highlanders Steel Orchestra, Trinidad & Tobago Music Stars, Phoenix Steel Orchestra and St. Margaret’s Superstars start the music ball rolling on Saturday January 4, 2025 performing in respective venues, with an expected start of 6:00 p.m.
The second grouping - Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force, West Stars, Harvard Harps and Roadblock steel orchestras - will be judged, also at respective venues, from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday January 5.
The championship is at stake, with all in the small steel orchestra category attempting to dethrone the reigning Small steel orchestra champions, New East Side Dimension from sister isle Tobago.
