Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - The South/Central region is expected to field six medium steel orchestras over two nights—Wednesday January 21 and Thursday January 22—in the category’s preliminary phase for the 2026 Trinidad and Tobago National Panorama season. Event organizer Pan Trinbago lists a start time of 7:00 p.m. AST (Atlantic Standard Time) on Wednesday for the first band, Couva Joylanders. Three more are on the schedule to round out the evening’s competitors.
On Thursday, the panel of judges should see two bands in preliminary competition - Trinidad Valley Harps and La Brea Nightingales. All bands perform in respective panyards/communities for the preliminary rounds.
There is no defending champion in this category as the 2025 title holder—Tobago’s Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra—has transitioned to the large band competition arena.

The medium steel orchestras are in quest of a place in the February 1 national semi-finals. Ultimately, the bands from four regions—East, South/Central, Tobago and North—each aim to emerge champion on February 8, the night of final competition.
