Results - Large Conventional Steel Orchestra Preliminaries - Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama 2026
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Large and in charge, musically speaking, for about ten minutes at the Big Yard, on stage. That is the case when seventeen large steel orchestras compete in the semi-finals, as part of the music battle at the Savannah Party unfolding at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain on February 1, a feature of the 2026 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama season.
As with their medium counterparts, event organizer Pan Trinbago moved all the large bands which competed in the preliminary rounds from their respective panyards/communities - directly to the semi-finals phase this year - so there were no eliminations. From January 25–28, large steel orchestras representing the East, South/Central, Tobago and North regions performed for a panel of judges.
At Sunday’s competition each is vying to move on to the Panorama finals being held February 14, and ultimately become the 2026 national champion. With two ties coming out of the preliminaries, one at fifth place, and a four-way tie at seventh, pan lovers can be sure that the bands aim to do their best to out-pace their competitors, move up, putting as much distance between each other as possible. Title defender Exodus Steel Orchestra is, naturally, determined to remain on top.
Following are the full results for the preliminary competition for Large conventional steel orchestras.
