Finals: Order of Appearance for MEDIUM Steel Orchestras - Trinidad and Tobago National Panorama 2025
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - This Sunday’s competition in the country’s annual national steelband session known as ‘Panorama,’ is all about the season’s best in this specific category - Medium - of the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama. February 23 is expected to be a night of steelband music memories - for both the lovers of the art form, and the musicians themselves.
Of the final night competitors taking the stage at Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Tobago - half of the ten steel orchestras are themselves past champions. And three are competing back-to-back in positions two, three and four, respectively; title defenders Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra, Couva Joylanders and Pan Elders. The latter has been the most successful to date; Pan Elders Steel Orchestra has the most titles since the inception of ‘categories’ back in 2004. The music organization’s six championships were consecutive—2014 through 2019—and with the same arranger, Duvone Stewart.
The other two past champions in the lineup are Sound Specialists of Laventille and Sforzata Steel Orchestra. Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra is looking to stave off all challengers to its throne while determined to make it three consecutive championships with arranger Kersh Ramsey. So far, the collaboration has maintained its lead in this year’s competition.
Results on final night will reveal either: who will add to their trophy cache, or who might triumph for the first time ever. Arima Angel Harps is first on stage, while Dixieland closes off the competition. Event organizer Pan Trinbago has a start time of 7:00 p.m. AST (Atlantic Standard Time) on schedule.
Here are the semi-final scores which secured these medium steel orchestras a spot for final night.
