Finals Order of Appearance for Small Steel Orchestras - Trinidad & Tobago National Steelband Panorama 2017
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - When the 2017 Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama Small Steel Orchestra Finals organized by Pan Trinbago gets underway way at Skinner Park in San Fernando, south Trinidad, on Thursday 23 February, defending champion Arima Golden Symphony will perform at position 10 in the musical battle, in its effort to retain the title for a fourth consecutive year.
Under the baton of arranger Terrance “BJ” Marcelle, the Arima-based band will perform Champions composed and sung by Winston Scarborough aka “The Original De Fosto Himself.”
The San Fernando event is the first of two Finals in which the top steel orchestras by an elimination process vie for the coveted titles. The other is the Medium & Large Steel Orchestra Finals carded for Saturday 25 February at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
Judges in the Small Steel Orchestra category are Frank Stanisclaus, Soluna Garnes, Joslynne Sealey, Maria Achaiba, Hetty DeGannes and Vorbin Cordice.
The original field saw forty-five participants in the preliminaries, which was then reduced to thirty going into the semi-finals. Now, fifteen of the best of the small steel orchestra will be jamming in the “Park.” Following is order of appearance of the bands with their tunes of choice and arrangers:

(opposite Victoria Square) and on the day of the event at the venue.
This year’s theme is “Transformation In Steel.”
